On my main site, I place mostly educational information. On the message board I have articles and other posts. Here I just want to express myself about what's going on in the world of visual impairments and simply what's going on with me!
I am a Christian mom of a great but very shy 25-year-old and a wife of a precious Christian man I met as we volunteered for Kairos Prison Ministry in south Louisiana. I am also an artist and teacher/specialist for children with visual impairments and a Children's Ministry teacher. I have 35.5 years of experience in education. I was a high school art teacher, an art and cultural enrichments/reading specialist for children ages 3 to 23 with visual impairments, a teacher for high school age/young adult deaf-blind students, a teacher for preemie-born preschool students with visual impairments, a teacher/specialist for children with visual impairments for preschool to high school students. I also have experience with children with orthopedic impairments, autism and learning differences--especially dyslexia/disgraphia. I'm a new mom to a 7-year-old cat: Mr. Bob Buttons, who was rescued from the abandoned home of an addict and thought to be 17 ubntil a recent vet visit. He adopted us in February of 2009 and has his own blog, Facebook account and Twitter page.
Don't look! After many months of fatigue after chemo, I put on weight. Well, lost about five pounds. I have hypothyroidism, too but I'm determined to take off 20 pounds.
